This week we are going to read about the wedding in Cana from John 2 (Lesson 7 in Old Story New) and see that Jesus is the Creator in his loving act of turning water into wine. It was a generous thing to do. Imagine the surprise and joy of the bride and groom! But it was about so much more than good wine at a wedding. That's what we want to see this week.

We had a great day yesterday, kicking off another year of Promise Kingdom! I'm excited to work our way through most of the New Testament this year - not only to see Jesus forshadowed in the Old Testament, but to hear Him speak and watch Him minister through the testimony of the Gospels.

Hopefully your kids came home Sunday singing, "Nothing Better Than Jesus!" We are currently learning actions to that song, so if you're wondering where they're getting those strange moves...now you know.

This week we found out what happens when God's people turn away from Him and put their trust in the world for deliverance (Lesson #67).

Miracles are signs of God’s power at work and are wonders because as the word indicates, they are wonderful to behold.

This week we continued to learn about God using Elijah to show that He is above every false god that is worshipped (lesson #63).

This week we learned that God is at work even in the midst of a sinful generation (Lesson #62). He used the prophet Elijah in many miraculous ways.

This week's lesson (Lesson #61) is from 1 Kings 11-12 and tells the story of King Solomon's idolatry and his son, Rehoboam's foolish pride, leading to the split of the kingdom into two.

This week we read from 1-2 Chronicles, now that peace had come to Israel, God used David's son Solomon to build the temple, a place of rest (Lesson #60). Though it was a beautiful structure, the most important thing about it was the fact that God's presence filled the temple. This temple is only a shadow of another temple, our hearts.

This week your children read from Psalm 23 (Lesson 59) and learned that the Lord is our shepherd who watches over us and leads us, that the Lord calms our fears and protects us, and that the Lord saves us from our sin.
