This week we learned that God is at work even in the midst of a sinful generation (Lesson #62). He used the prophet Elijah in many miraculous ways.

This week's lesson (Lesson #61) is from 1 Kings 11-12 and tells the story of King Solomon's idolatry and his son, Rehoboam's foolish pride, leading to the split of the kingdom into two.

This week we read from 1-2 Chronicles, now that peace had come to Israel, God used David's son Solomon to build the temple, a place of rest (Lesson #60). Though it was a beautiful structure, the most important thing about it was the fact that God's presence filled the temple. This temple is only a shadow of another temple, our hearts.

This week your children read from Psalm 23 (Lesson 59) and learned that the Lord is our shepherd who watches over us and leads us, that the Lord calms our fears and protects us, and that the Lord saves us from our sin.
