The Christian is called to a life of discipleship, and God's program of discipleship is centered on growing in our knowledge and understanding of His Word (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Matthew 28:18-20). We not only become believers through hearing the Word (Romans 10:17; James 1:18), but we also mature in the Christian life by devoting ourselves to studying, meditating on, and applying God's Word (1 Peter 2:2-3).
Our Sunday school program is designed to supplement the weekly sermons as a time for corporate study, meditation on, and discussion of God's Word together. Oakridge currently offers Sunday school for all ages. Our Adult Sunday School class a begin at 9 a.m. every Sunday morning in the sanctuary.
Currently, we are continuing a study series through the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. This study has been picked up off and on over the last 6 years. The 1689 Baptist Confession is one of the most important confessional documents to have been produced by the Puritan Movement in 17th Century England. Historically speaking, it has been representative of the doctrine and theology of Baptist churches in America from the beginning. This Confession also provides the church with a clear expression of the teachings of Scripture on the most vital matters of the Christian faith.
We look forward to having you join us!
