Some of you are loving the title for this week's lesson, Jesus Calms the Storm, from Luke 8 (Lesson #20). That storm could be anything. It might just be the crazy business of the season. Or maybe Christmastime is hard for other reasons like remembering the loss of a loved one. Perhaps, though there are people all around you, you feel alone. Whatever the occasion for the storms in our lives, we are reminded, with our children, that Jesus holds authority over them all.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:18

Jesus spoke to the wind and the waves and they obeyed Him. The disciples truly had nothing to be afraid of. They had the One who created and sustains all things (Colossians 1:16-17) in the boat with them! And so do we! Don't ever forget that. He does allow our boat to go through storms...but we're never alone!

Christmas Caroling

I hope you have your voices tuned up for Sunday's trip over to the nursing home on Greeley to sing of the Gift of Advent and give the residents some other small gifts that express our love for them through Christ.

We noticed that very few families signed up. Therefore we would ask, if you are planning to join us for lunch after the service, please bring a food item to share. It would also be helpful if you respond in the comment section with how many are joining you and what you plan on bringing. Our goal is that we have enough food for everyone who wants to join us! Thanks for your help.

See you Sunday!

Pastor Jonathan
