gideonYesterday we learned how God increased Gideon's faith and brought glory to Himself in defeating the Midianites with just 300 men (Lesson #47). What a great reminder to all of us that God can accomplish His work with many or with few. If God seems to be whittling down your army (whatever that may be), consider He may be calling you to trust Him to do a work beyond your imagination and ability so that He alone gets the glory!

Our memory verse this week is Matthew 6:19-21:

“19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (ESV)

Perhaps the younger children can work on just verse 21. However, don't underestimate their ability to memorize longer passages. They can often do it easier than we can!

Announcements

  • Be sure to pick up your song CD at the Check-In desk and listen to it as you drive.
  • Also, Fall is here and that means the cold season will be picking up. Out of love and respect for other children, we would ask if your child has a contagious illness (fever, yellow or green discharge, vomitting, etc.) that you would keep them out of the nursery or find someone to care for them if you have ministry responsibilities. Keep in mind, if we believe your child has a contagious illness, we may ask you (very graciously!) to keep them in your care. See the Promise Kingdom Handbook for more information.

Have a grace-filled week!
